Harrison and Williams Mercantile asked me to produce branding work under the project title 'Mark & Mark' — drawing on the heraldic and maker's-mark tradition that sits so well with the mercantile register.
I worked the marks in pen and ink, treating the branding as a typographic and ornamental exercise in the nineteenth-century trade-catalogue and maker's-mark tradition, with line weight and ornamental detail calibrated for intimate print as well as larger applications. The core marks were built to hold their weight consistently across the brand's collateral.
The work sits within Harrison and Williams Mercantile's brand identity.
