For World Book Day 2022, the Big Issue ran a book-themed edition and commissioned a series of British independent bookshop illustrations from me.

I drew a set of independent bookshops in pen and ink, working each shopfront from reference so the character of the individual business came through — the signage, the window display, the particular architecture that makes a town's independent bookshop recognisable. Line weight and hatching density were set for reproduction on the Big Issue's uncoated stock.

The illustrations ran in the Big Issue's World Book Day 2022 issue, distributed through the magazine's vendor network and digital subscription.
