Walpole is the UK's official sector body for British luxury, representing more than 250 member brands across fashion, hospitality, motoring and the creative industries. Each year Walpole publishes its Yearbook, a hardback volume distributed to members, policymakers and the wider luxury trade as the sector's editorial record.
For the March 2020 edition, Walpole commissioned me to produce two large pen and ink illustrations to accompany essays within the Yearbook, working with art director Neil Tookey at Nous Partners. I worked in fine-line pen, aiming for the decorative restraint that sits alongside Walpole's typographic identity and heritage positioning. Each drawing was built to hold at full-page scale while reading cleanly against the Yearbook's long-form editorial.
The 2020 Yearbook was produced as a limited hardback print run and distributed to Walpole's membership.
